St George’s Day is the most important date in the scouting calendar, it’s a day of celebration and the one day of the year when all members are encouraged to renew their scouting promise.

We had planned on gathering at Penistone Church on Saturday 25th April to reignite this annual celebration with a “messy church”. Lockdown has put those plans firmly in ice until next year.

It would be a shame to allow the occasion to pass by, especially given we’ve been making good use of virtual meetings. We will be hosting section by section short sessions on Saturday 25th April. These will be early evening so not to interfere with lunches and daily exercise!

We would love to see as many young people (and leaders) attending these sessions as possible please. Around the country, many other groups will be hosting similar activities. On this occasion, attendees need to be in their full uniform. Well, upper half – so well turned out scouting tops and neckers, please.
