With the reminders out-of-the-way, let’s recap the week.

This week:

Energy

Alegre and Bella Vista cubs enjoyed a talk from Northern Powergrid. Big shout out to Leena for giving the talk, and for Richard for covering Sam who couldn’t make it due to work commitments this week!

Great Scout Bake-off

It was week one of the “Great Scout Bake-off” at Wibbles Scouts this week. They had to make royal icing and produce 4 identically iced biscuits of their own design.Lots of scouts in the troop learned that if you don’t listen to instructions carefully you can have problems. Everyone learned how to pipe icing designs( eventually!). There were some intricate designs with the winning two chosen by the parents of our two new scouts.

Sorry we didn’t get a picture

Lots of other activities took place this week, but we didn’t necessarily get a photo:
  • Viernes troop learnt about knife-safety, made (with varying degrees of success) flint and steel paracord bracelets and learned how to start fires with no matches.
  • Enigma took part in a trading post activity, which saw them test both their listening skills and entrepreneurship.
  • 5 teams of Explorers presented the final part of their expedition section on Tuesday resulting in some DofE awards being submitted for authorisation.
  • Raptors completed two of their requested subjects from the cub forum:
    • “The history of cub scouting”.  Including facts about Lord Baden Powell, when and how girls became able to join scouting, what a “grand howl” is and how to perform one
    • A new game
See you on Group Camp!
