This week:

Raptors went to Pets at Home

The Scout Association has a fabulous partnership with Pets at Home. Cubs from our Raptors pack visited the Fox Valley store. They met several animals and spent the evening learning about caring for pets.

Epic Bowling tournament

113 Scouts and Explorers took over Barnsley Bowl for the evening. Leaders were delighted to receive independent compliments from half a dozen people about how well behaved everyone was.

Second helpings – Pancakes

Our Tuesday and Thursday cubs (Alegre and Bella Vista) enjoyed making and eating pancakes.

Forget hamster balls, these are beaver balls!

Wednesday Beavers went to Stocksbridge Leisure Centre for a spot of zorbing! Our other colonies will be getting the opportunity to also do so in March. (Click for dates: Castors / Millstones)

Fires, whittling and a code of conduct

On Friday evening, scouts from our Viernes troop spent the night building fires before gathering in smaller groups to discuss what they’d like to see included (or excluded) from the scouting programme. In addition to this, we spent some time remembering some of the core scouting principles, rules, and behaviour.

First night under canvas

Scouts from our Monday troop (Enigma) spent the night under canvas having planned their own menu and activities earlier in the week. A fantastic time was had by all despite the bitter cold.
