Welcome back!

We’ll spare you the egg related puns as we conclude the Easter holidays. We trust you’ve had a fabulous time, are refreshed and your young person is ready for another term of Scouting?

The week ahead (29th April 2019 onwards)

Beavers

Section meetings

Castors  – will be refreshing ourselves with how we put up and take down tents – weather permitting this week; then lighting fires and cooking the following week getting ready for camp. You might need a coat if it is cool. If it is wet then we will be doing something exciting indoors.

Boomers  – will be lighting and cooking on fires this week at the scout hut. Please send your beaver with suitable clothes and footwear for the weather on the day.

Millstones – will be meeting at the Scout Hut but at our normal meeting times, please. We will be cooking on fires outside, so please make sure your beaver has a coat and suitable footwear.

Uniform is not required; please make sure your scout is wearing their necker though. We will meet at the Scout Hut for drop off and collection at our normal meeting times.

Wibbles – some of the troop will be at a District Awards evening, the remainder will be meeting at the Scout Hut at our normal times, please. Sharon, from our Explorer Unit will be supporting the other  leaders whilst Alison is at the Awards evening.

Viernes – will have an additional opportunity to experiment with some of Richard’s photography equipment, as well as get some tips for their own creations – Scouts are welcome to bring their own cameras but remain responsible for them. Normal times at the Scout Hut.

Future Scout events

Barnsley Awards – Earlier in the month, several of our group attended an Awards Presentation evening to recieve section awards. We are delighted that another 13 young people from our group will be recognised on Wednesday evening. They would have been recognised at the last event, but due to space limitations, an additional date had to be laid on! Well done to all of you – we are very proud of your achievements!
