It was a difficult decision to make, but we urgently need more adult volunteers at Penistone Scouts to keep building memories and supporting young people.

Putting on the tree collection this January would place too much additional load on our current volunteers. The last thing we want to do is burn out the team.

We will be shortly announcing an open evening in mid-January 2020 focused around both volunteering and the continued development of the group. It’ll be at the Grammar School and will be open to interested members of the local community as well as parents/guardians/families of our existing members.

You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. You don’t need to have been a Scout when you were younger. You don’t even need to know how to put up a tent.

We welcome people of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds, and we’re only able to change lives because volunteers are able to lend a hand for as little or as much time as you can spare, and we promise you’ll get more out than you put in.

We provide the training. You show up, get stuck in, and make memories for life. Interested? Please visit penistonescouts.uk/volunteer.

Penistone Scout Group are 110 years old. Please help us to continue our great work!
