This weekend, 28 cubs have slept over at the Scout Hut for a weekend of festive fun.

The cubs arrived and instantly got stuck in to baking some tasty shortbread cookies in a variety of ‘Christmassy’ shapes. The rest of the morning was taken up by making some very impressive wreaths which some cubs collected foliage for last weekend.

After lunch, the crafts began! Groups took it in turns to make hot chocolate reindeers, a burnt wood bauble, a card, helped decorate a Christmas tree and a wish list for Santa. They practised a variety of skills to produce all their creations including potato carving, drawing and painting.

At teatime, the cubs tucked in to a two course Christmas dinner and had a visit from Santa! He brought presents and sweets along and talked to the  cubs about what they had been up to that day.

At bedtime, the Cubs enjoyed a ‘sleepy cinema’ and munched popcorn in bed.

After an early morning breakfast, the Cubs have enjoyed finishing off decorating their cookies and making paracord bracelets before being collected by parents.
